I almost had the feeling that Pawson had decided that he would avoid when he could duplicating what Budworth had done. It takes balls to title your book “The Complete Book of Knots” without including any mention of such a simple and basic knot as the slip knot. The history behind some of the knots is fascinating, and Budworth’s anecdotal experience lets the reader know that each knot is tried and true. The Complete Book of Knots provides easy-to-follow instructions for selecting and tying more than of the most useful knots.

Drawings and diagrams can be difficult to decipher, but a good collection of useful knots.

Another plus to this book is that most of the knots Budworth picked for inclusion are useful and often “best of breed” knots.

Like the Pawson book, the book is soft-cover, the binding is stitched, and the book can be opened flat without breaking the binding.
