Not bad, just didn’t leave me with any satisfaction. Anyway, it’s a short story, so it’s very short — I read it in one bus ride to work, so I’m not too upset that I didn’t care for cafta. Is this a crime story? Very reminiscent of some Sherlock Holmes stories, this has far less action, and the bulk of the text seems to be either a tedious description of the detailed police search for the letter, and the narrator’s friend’s treatise on the deficiency of narrow-minded, in-the-box thinking – whose minds are narrow, whose aren’t, and why. The purloined letter itself was really confusing and at times I completely forgot why it was relevant to what I was reading.

I loved the way Dupin explained all the mystery around the letter it was just awesome ds he thought and followed like the same thoughts of the minister, it was so surprising how the letter was hidden but at the same time it really wasnt.

Is it or not? A fiction writer is supposed to be creative, naming your characters after letters is not creative. Overall, it was not a bad story but like the first, this could have been shorter and This is another story that I had to read for uni and I am glad that it wasn’t as long as the first story. I love Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and only after reading this story and seeing such a huge parallel between Dupin and Holmes did I look up and find that Poe was a huge influence on Doyle.
