Employees are going on theirs work stations. Here are a few close up and in action shots, to give you an idea of the play values in this set. One legp the short sides has a elevation of the set.
Nostalgic and beautiful review for this original set! They were fine for the period, but to narrow for my preference. The small island with palm trees in background could not be missing here.
The rear of the box shows some alternative builds. It was actually looking quite feasible to get my grubby mitts on these nostalgic memories either MISB, or examples with broken seals that were still un-played with. On the other hand, its Lego folks – put it where you want! You are not logged in. I love the rock music stage, as it has nothing to do with an airport, and demonstrates the flexibility of the set. Thank you for such a great review!
We get 8 of them in this set, including 3 Airport personnel, a chopper pilot, a jet captain, a security guard and 2 intrepid travelers.
Take note of the headlight bricks at the rear, as they will come in very handy soon. Here is a close up of the windows, tree and small garden. Harmacy, thank you for taking your time to share this beautiful Classic Town review! Final ratings, Design and build – 8.
TLG could have used 1 big ugly mold, but they gave us 8 parts to enhance play value. Packaging from the back. We have seats, controls and some nice blue pin-striping. And here it is with all of our vehicles and structures, all completed. Why had I not thought of this before??? Here is the paperwork and documentation. A simple build with a hinge and grille plates setting up a nicely detailed, and easily identifiable airport feature.
Im almost tempted to send an order in, but it does have an expiry date of 31 March Looks like we have a plane in the making!
The box flap opens up, revealing a window to the parts, and another side of images, showing the play functions of the set, plus some more alternative builds. Thanks and enjoy your set, harmacy! Close up on the external side of the baggage slide.
Great review of a great set! And detail from behind, sans the controllers seat. Excellent review and glad it’s been built after 22 years in the cold. I love the tropical background, and view looking down the runway. These are BIG pieces, and look fantastic.
Cue nostalgia and the excited search through BL to see how feasible it would be to actually buy all of those sets that I missed out on when I was a young lad. Easily identifiable as leggo airport, with lots of function and playability.
The reviews and pictures here give such a great perspective of the set s in question. This a great walk down memory road.
This is a good review of a classic set! While my personal favorite airport is the Century Skyway, this legk still has loads of charm and a really neat design. The next step however, adds wings and some angled hull pieces. Next up, we have the little yellow helicopter.
